The Guy's Guide: Modern Boutonnieres

Gone are the days when 18th Century Frenchmen adorned fancy frocks with bold blooms and 20th Century silver screen gents, like Cary Grant and Clark Gable, pinned a modest boutonniere on their coat just to enjoy a Friday night out on the town.

When it comes to boutonnieres nowadays, the fellas reserve them mainly for special events, such as weddings. And even then, most guys could care less what design they sport down the aisle as long as it stays simple and doesn't require a weed-wacker to kiss the bride.

{JJ WED} completely agrees, however, the often neglected (and often misspelled) boutonniere has come a long way since the simplistic carnation or rose head of days gone by. Today, we (floral and event designers) encourage grooms to exercise a little creativity to spice up that oh-so-plain black lapel.
Simply put: stylish doesn't have to mean "over-done".
Take a look at some of these dapper designs that add a stylish statement to the ol' lapel, while still keeping true to the crisp, clean look of today's modern groom.

The sky is the limit when it comes to dressing up that plain lapel. Balancing color, texture, and some neat unexpected elements, boutonnieres can take on a sophisticated and polished statement without being overdone.
Whether you're a guy who prefers simplicity or a little more flair, {JJ WED} would love to sit down and help you and your bride design custom pieces that reflect your personal style and your overall budget. And, with stylish boutonnieres starting as low as $12.00, we'll make sure you get the look you want without breaking the bank!

Thanks for reading!
